Welcome to the student website of

Lorne Preston Bailey, A+, N+, i-Net+, MCSE
I am currently admitted in the in the Telecommunications, Electronics and Computer Technology (TECT), Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program, Computer NetworkingTechnology (CNT) track through University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Community and Technical College (CTC). I hope to eventually get a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology (BST) at UAA. The purpose of this website is to help other students who are in the Telecommunications, Electronics and Computer Technology (TECT) program or other Applied Science students.

Here is a link to Black Board and a link to the UAA Cisco Academy website.

Here is a Directory of Sample work (below) for students so that they might know what Instructors will probably expect of them:

Here are some things that you should know:

If you are preparing for IT certification or need a little help on your studies or some help on completing a class project then I am available to help you however I can, but I don't pretend to know a whole lot about technology, as I am also one of the students trying to learn this technology too. I want to encourage students to help each other, however, please keep in mind that any person having Information Technology certifications does not necessarily mean that this person is an expert on Information Technology! It is never a shame to admit that you don't know something. The people that you work for will more than likely respect you for admitting that you don't know how to solve all of their problems. Furthermore, these people will probably respect you more for taking steps to find out how to solve their problems, after admitting that you don't know how to solve all of their problems. Be Teachable!

I suggest that when you take the Net+ exam or a Microsoft™ exam and you are presented with a troubleshooting question, be sure to screen out options that present a solution to the problem, then pick the options that are leftover. I included a page with links for integrating MicrosoftSQL Server 2000 with Microsoft™ Access. Also, here is a list of Visual Basic Codes to help you become acquainted with the syntax used in Visual Basic and on how each of these codes is used.

I hope that the information that I provided will help my classmates. I also included information about a neat tool for analyzing security on a network, a 2008 Calendar, information about Special Characters and a link to my main website for your convenience. Please feel free to contact me, if you have any questions about anything that I have provided for you. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions as to how to make this website more useful to my classmates.

Sincerely,

Lorne Bailey, A+, N+, i-Net+, MCSE
